Purpose: Demonstrate an understanding of Traditional Chinese Culture (TCC) based on our textbook, the lectures, and D2L Handouts.
Students will view a set of paintings (next pages) done by Traditional Chinese artists. These artists represent and have contributed to what is outstanding about TCC. After studying carefully and reflecting on these paintings, pick three and write about how these paintings represent TCC.
Question: Which painting do you like and why? Explain by using references to our (1) textbook, (2) lectures, or (3) D2L Handouts.
Students need to do all of the following . . .
* Write an informal university essay [2-3 pages, 750 words] – no more than 3 pages.
* Write a clear thesis statement.
* Create a (your own) title for the paper! Essay #2 is not a title.
* Connect the painting(s) to Traditional Chinese Culture (TCC) by making a reference to our textbook, class lectures, or D2L Handouts.
* Point out aspects of TCC that are connected to Chinese Culture today.
* Follow MLA format, Times New Roman font, size: 12 inches, double space, etc.
* Point out the significance of these aspects of TCC to you or China today.
* Only use sources in English. Do not refer to any outside sources.
* Note: the grade is based on information learned in this course.
* Limit the information in the essay to our course.
* DO NOT use outside sources.
