POWERPOINT DISEASE CASE STUDY PRESENTATION Each student should select a disease they are interested in learning more about. Make sure it is significant enough to complete the assignment. In no more than 25 slides excluding the reference and title slides the student should present::
3 measurable learning objectives for the presentations (For example, by the end of the presentation the student will understand the pathophysiology of Celiac disease)
Introduce the diseasea. (For example, Asthma is a disease of inflammation of the lungs)
Present the prevalence of the disease (How many persons are affected? Are males and females affected differently? Are there differences between SES and/or race?)
Present the Etiology of the disease (Pathophysiology to the cellular level, Risk Factors)
Discuss the Clinical Manifestations of the disease (What are the signs and symptoms? What would the NP expect to find on examination? What diagnostic results (lab, radiology, other) would the NP expect?)
Present the Diagnosis including several common differential diagnoses that need to be ruled out
Present the Treatment and Management of the disease and include: Pharmacological, Non-pharmacological, Prognosis, Complications
Discuss other considerations/education for: The patient, The family, The NP
Create a case study of a patient (real or hypothetical, just make sure there are no patient identifiers) with the disease. Make sure to include: At least 3 questions related to the case study, Include the answers to the questions, Discuss 3-4 Points to Ponder/Tips
You should utilize a minimum of 5 scientific resources beyond the textbook. Please make sure to cite and reference utilizing APA. Grammar, spelling and punctuation are part of the grade.
