POP is nominally associated with community policing that was discussed in previous sessions. POP appears to work best when intervention needs to be well done and fidelity planned (police implement as planned) and interact with community leaders. An increase in gun violence has been reported in American cities, notably Chicago and New York, but other cities as well. Faced with this problem, consider one of the POP strategies as listed below and address the application of a policing strategy to replace the violence in areas where gun violence is prevalent. Work with community leaders Change the environment, i.e., street lighting, etc. Increase risks of being caught Control measures, i.e., curfews Make it easier to follow the law-remove excuses Crack down on disorders.
