Nurses possess a unique tool to assist them in making sense out of critical or ambiguous situations.  The nursing process, when used correctly, can profoundly improve patient safety outcomes.  When the nurse analyzes a situation using each of the steps, a more clear picture and predictive outcome can be attained.  Despite this, errors happen each day – probably every patient experiences some type of error while being treated in a health care organization.
