Must read a 100 page book the instructions are attached and the book. https://edisciplinas.usp.br/pluginfile.php/3403095/mod_resource/content/1/56ViktorFrankl_Mans%20Search.pdf * Use the first person, this is an informal, reaction paper rather than an academic one; This is a paper so it should be in paragraph form (not bullet-points, etc..) * Spelling and grammar are expected to be at a college level and will factor into your grade * If you use sources (even the book) be sure you quote/cite source as appropriate & necessary * You will turn in a typed, paper copy at the beginning of class * APA format is highly recommended but will not count against your grade if it’s not perfect APA  Include all of the following elements in your paper: * Title, author of your chosen book & why you choose this book over the other options * A brief synopsis of the book as a whole -limited to two – three paragraphs * Discuss who you think the author is/was as a person & clinician (based solely on your reading the book- do not look them up online!) – include your thoughts on how the clinician’s writing, points of view, and so on confirms, contradicts, supports, etc.. the theory they proposed * Pick 5 specific elements/themes/topics/events etc. in the book and, for each, * Describe it – why did this particular element jump out to or stick with you? * What significance does it have for you? * How do you think it will affect you as a therapist/human being? * Discuss any common themes/issues/messages that you noticed * Anything in the book about which you were not in agreement, or that you felt was not genuine or didn’t “fit” for you, and why you felt this way – be introspective and thorough * How you feel about human nature/the human condition now as compared to before? * How do you feel about therapy/clients/the process after reading the book, compared with how you viewed therapy before? * The way(s) in which reading the book has affected you in general (if it has) * If you are glad to have chosen this book, or if you’d wished you’d chosen the other option, and why * I am looking for genuine, deep, personal insight and depth, not analysis!
