Must contain a thesis statement to receive a passing grade.
Your essay should have an introduction, body, and conclusion. Your introduction should introduce the topic; give a sense of the purpose for writing the essay; present the main argument or thesis; and provide a “map,” or forecast, of the rest of the paper. Each reason will be a new section of your essay and will need its own topic sentence that is developed for that section. Your sections will likely take two to four paragraphs to develop appropriately.
The argument is supported with quotations, paraphrased material, and summaries from the texts.
