Choose an event from a war. It could be any event from any war (for example, it could be the event of dropping the atomic bomb in WWII, or it could be a certain mission in a war). Write an essay on the morality of the event.
In your essay, discuss whether the war as a whole was justified. Discuss also whether the main actions carried out by the main players in the event were justified. In your essay, you should discuss the application of the conditions of jus ad Bellum to your case. You should also discuss the rules of jus in Bello as applied to your case. Your essay should be informed by our discussions in the class and by the materials presented in the book. (To see the conditions of jus ad Bellum, look at chapters 3 and 4. To study the rules of jus in Bello, you should read chapters 5-8). It is up to you to use further reading mentioned in the book.
