During the Revolutionary War, Washington showed that he was capable of being a great leader by believing in his men, treating others with respect and always placing himself on the front line. A. The ability to inspire and motivate his men. C. After defeating the British at the battle of Yorktown, things turned into the Colonists favor. 1. Washington returned home to Mount Vernon 2. Later he was called back into duty by his people. 3. They knew he was a great leader. As a result of the experiences General Washington had in many battles during the Revolutionary War, he proved to all his people, including his army and to himself that he was in fact, an acceptable, trustworthy, distinguished mover and shaker.
