Interaction 1: Child Directed Play

Listen for and describe the interests of children through their conversation.
Determine and describe the levels of language the children were expressing.
Use the CA Preschool Foundations Volume 1 Language and Literacy section, and ELD section (if applicable) to describe the children’s level of mastery in at least four standards of your choice. The Early Language and Literacy Standards are on pages 55-70. The English Language Development Standards are on pages 112-136. (Attached)

Describe and provide analysis of the language between the adults and children you observed citing the content you are learning.
Discuss the levels of language were the children using when interacting with adults?
Using the CA Preschool Foundations Volume 1 Language and Literacy section, and ELD section (if applicable) to describe the children’s level of mastery in the above four standards in Observation 1, comment on similarities and differences?
Evaluate the methods used for assessments of the children’s language skills in relation to your content learning or course work.
Examine the teacher’s early intervention strategies for language delays and suggest additional research-based strategies.
Analyze the ELL support strategies implemented and analyze the effectiveness.
