Instructions: In a thesis-driven (persuasive) literary essay, identify some form of intertextuality between Kate Chopin’s The Awakening and at least one other of our assigned texts from the first half of the semester. The other assigned text(s) I chose was “Because I could not stop for death” by Emily D. I chose this because thought that both “The Awakening” and “Because I could not stop for Death” have some form of intertextuality together.
…Essentially, you will explain how a character or theme from the novel (The Awakening) connects to a completely different literary work in some interesting, unexpected way. As a part of your discussion, I would suggest that you consider how The Awakening, being a fin de siècle (end of the 19th century) story, gravitates more toward either earlier works from the 1800s or the early modernist literature of the 1900s.
Requirements:
 at least two scholarly sources (scholarly journal articles or critical books by
literary/humanities experts)
 do not include non-scholarly sources unless there is a compelling reason to do so
>>Please if you are citing a source it must be from the TCC library database and not from any other site basically. Here is link: https://library.tccd.edu/
I know it may seem like you cant use it , but this link/website is actually accessible, so you can find sources.
– Lastly, I want to mention that In the files I have provided I will show my rough draft and the rough draft is really rough my apologies, but I do hope you will use some good points of a relation of theme between the both of the pieces of literature(like the theme of death and leaving the earth the right way and the beauty of death..) and also other intertextualities when writing this.
I also have provided a grading rubric file.
