I have been asked to come up with a qualitative research for my final year template research project, It requires
you to exercise your research expertise and helps you further develop your critical and
analytical skills. The specific skills it tests are: the ability to generate a reasonable research
question (i.e. one that can be answered or investigated logically); the ability to design a
study and conduct research using appropriate research methods, either quantitative or
qualitative (or both – mixed methods), that address the research question and yield valid
data appropriate to it; the ability to perform appropriate analyses on those data and to
interpret and understand the results of those analyses and finally; the ability to write a
research report that presents your study and its conclusions in a clear, logical and concise
manner using academic prose.
