i‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍ need aresponse to this discussion: The Magnet Recognition Program for a facility represents improved patient outcomes and excellent nursing practice. The vision of Magnet is aimed to transform healthcare internationally by bringing skill, knowledge, innovation, compassion, and leadership to every community, family, and individual. Its mission is to continually improve patient care globally through scientific discovery, leadership, and implementation of new knowledge. To maintain status as a Magnet facility, hospitals need to demonstrate improved clinical practice and outcomes that is based on current evidence. Evidence-based practice (EBP) committees provide approaches for improving beside and clinical decision based on the most current research. In this context, Magnet programs help to guide nurses in clinical practice and making recommendations while the EBP committee is which they do this. The new model of Magnet displays 14 Forces of Magnetism into 5 Model Components. This new, simpler model reflects more focus on measuring outcomes. The first model component discussed is transformational leadership which Magnet encourages leaders to transform organization’s values, behaviors, and beliefs. Magnet describes its intent not to just solve problems, empower staff, or fix broken systems but to transform the organizations to meet the future. The second model component is structural empowerment which refers to an environment for strong professional practice. It is where the values, vision, and the mission of the organization come to life to achieve outcomes that are of importance. It relies on ‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍strong partnerships and relationships to improve the health of the community and the individual. The third model is exemplary professional practice revolves around what professional nursing practice can achieve. It involves the understanding of nursing’s role, the application of that role to communities, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families. It also involves applying new evidence and knowledge. The fourth model is regarding new knowledge, innovation, and improvements. This model focuses on the need for current systems to be continuously redefined and redesigned for success. The last model is regarding empirical quality results which refers to clinical outcomes related to nursing, patient and consumer outcomes, workforce outcomes, and organizational outcomes. I believe that if our hospital adopted a lot of the magnet models, it would run a lot better. Money has a lot to do with how our hospital is run, we barely have adequate supplies to provide patient care. Currently, our staff morale is very low as many employees are upset with the wages as well as the safety of the workplace. It would be difficult to adopt the five models in this setting although our facility keeps an eye on empirical quality results. Resources Abramson, A. (2017, May 22). What Is a Magnet Hospital?
