he purpose of the Fraud presentation is for students to “present” a project that reflects an understanding of the forces driving health care fraud and abuse and ongoing initiatives for controlling fraud and abuse. The presentations will be done via PowerPoint or Prezi and should be no more than 5 slides (not including title and reference slide). The presentation must include the following:
Present a real-life case of healthcare fraud (preferably one that involves a nurse)
Describe what rules and regulations were violated
What type of fraud is represented in this case (i.e. beneficiary fraud, provider fraud, vendor fraud, etc)?
Does the case describe why the fraud was committed (pressure, opportunity or rationalization)?
How can this type of fraud be avoided in your future practice?
