Great instruction considers the needs of students and creates a learning environment that supports their efforts. One element of instruction that is  often overlooked, but that impacts learning, is the way that space is utilized. This GROUP activity asks you to consider how you will use space in your school in a way that aligns with UDL principles (see URLS FOR Routines UDL.docx attchment) of teaching for a student who is from a cultural/linguistically diverse home and/or has diverse exceptionalities.
You need to consider a POD of classrooms with bathrooms and outdoor spaces. There must be at least two in your Pod. Walkways and passageways between classrooms (either indoors or outdoors) and outdoor spaces should be considered as
well.
Students’ daily routines should be considered throughout the space. (See LEARNING ENVIRONMENT and ROUTINES RUBRIC.docx attachment)
The three essential components of this assignment are, the diagram (floor plan), the physical layout (interior design), and the utilization according to UDL guidelines (ergonomics).

I.    Two-dimensional classroom diagram with rationale statements.
A.    You may sketch by hand or utilize software to create your diagram.
II.    Address the following key features in your diagram: Be sure to provide a rationale statement for each of the key features included in your classroom diagram.

Consider the needs of the child that you have been assigned (see child description below) as they move through a typical day at school. Please make sure to address each of the UDL guidelines in the template provided.
