For your second writing project we will do an analysis of a fencing bout giving you a chance to look at what techniques are being used, what footwork is being used, and what kind of changes the athletes are making as they adapt to their opponents actions.
Watch the bout and try to observe what kind of technical and tactical choices the athletes are making. Are they attacking in the middle or are they pushing our opponents towards the end of the strip? Are they working on counteroffensive actions or offensive actions? Watch the fencers after each break and see if their fencing changes. What kind of adaptation have they made and is it successful? In the end what did the winner do to succeed, and what should the loser have done or changed to have secured victory?
