For this project, you will rhetorically analyze an advertisement produced by an author that deals with an advertisement listed below. First, your goal is to demonstrate your expertise in analyzing the rhetorical situation surrounding an advertisement of your choice (from below). Second, your goal is to demonstrate your ability to make an argument about the rhetorical strategies used by an author to create an advertisement. In other words, why did the author design their ad in this particular way?
In the course of your essay, you should employ the vocabulary of rhetorical analysis: audience, author, and message; ethos, pathos, and logos. Your argument needs to be thesis-driven. You may use either single-image advertisements or videos (no longer than 2 minutes).
Requirements: An 800-word minimum (it’s okay to modestly go over) essay rhetorically analyzing the selected ad from the list below. The essay must be written in accordance with MLA formatting (proper header, page numbers, Times New Roman 12 pt. font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins all around ). The essay must be submitted on Blackboard on time, on the due date.
