The final paper covers the topics discussed and presented in the course. This assignment is due Saturday, November 27, 2021. See the grading rubric for the final paper for more information.
• Select one of the topics below to research and write a paper. At a minimum, you must
address the following items with respect to your selected topic:
• Explanation of your topic, including definitions of key terms, and a detailed
discussion of what your topic encompasses or includes.
• Explain any current laws and public policies applicable to the topic.
• Identify and discuss emerging issues related to the topic, including a detailed
discussion of the factors or influences that specifically impact the policy-making
process related to each issue.
• A discussion of how someone with a Christian worldview should approach your
selected topic and the emerging issues.
• A discussion of your recommended course of action for future policy-making
with respect to the emerging issues related to your topic. Be specific.

• Topics: Select a topic for research and writing. Your instructor must approve whatever
topic you select before you begin any work. Your topic must be specific and sufficiently
narrowly-tailored to be approved. Your paper must focus on the topic as it relates to
public employment. Below are broad sample topics, which could be used to narrow down
a more specific research topic. You are not restricted to these topics.
• Employee use of social media
• Discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation
• Collective bargaining
• Outsourcing, contracting and/or part-time employment
• Immigration and employment
• Pay and benefits
• Whistleblowing
• Performance management
• Training and employee development
• Employee safety and health
• Workplace violence
• Right of privacy
• Equal pay
• Requirements:
• 3,500 – 4,000 total words (approximately 14 – 16 pages excluding cover and reference pages)
• Minimum 500 words Christian worldview discussion included in total words
• APA-compliant format, including title and reference pages
• Minimum of six (6) scholarly references (not counting textbook and Bible)
• Turnitin similarity index should not exceed 20%
• Proposed topic must be submitted in unit 3 (5 points) for approval by instructor
• prior to the student continuing any research or writing
• References page in APA format must be submitted in unit 4 (5 points)
• Outline of paper must be submitted in unit 5 (10 points)
• Final, complete paper must be submitted in unit 7 (120 points)
• Paper will be graded in accordance with Appendix A “Grading Rubric for Final Paper”
