Each student will receive a paper composed by one of their peers. You should then read, and not review or edit their work, but rather compose a response to their argument. Is it a good argument that made? Why or why not? If it is a good argument, you can help to further support their claims on the topic. If it is a bad argument, you can make points that show some of the flaws in their logic and propose and defend an alternative position. Your response should be directly related to the topic and argument made by the author of the paper you receive.
These papers should be 3-5 pages in length and follow all of the same formatting requirements as the first paper:
double spaced, Times New Roman 12pt Font, with 1 in. margins
should follow either APA or MLA formatting, whichever you chose please be consistent!
Please be sure to properly cite our text, including in-text citations or footnotes, and a reference page
It is not required to utilize any outside sources, but if you do please be sure they are academically appropriate (i.e, no wikis, dictionary.coms, etc) and that you also include proper citations for any sources utilized
I strongly encourage you to avoid utilizing first person in these papers. Instead, you want to make your claims as though they are objectively true, and then give a defense as to why they should be accepted as objectively true.
However, for this response paper you should make reference to the author of the paper you are responding to and should cite their work properly as well.
While this is a critical response to your peer’s work, you want to be sure to be respectful in how you are compose your responses. It is always encouraged to be honest if you disagree with a claim, but to remember that we are disagreeing with ideas, not with people.
