E‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍ssay Assignment In keeping with the They Say/I Say focus from the textbook, all essays are going to be opportunities for you to enter into a conversation with one or two texts of your choosing. The point of this is to give you the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your ability to engage with written argument using the model for academic conversation in the book. You may write your essays about any topic you prefer, but you must build‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍ your position around responding to other’s positions. That means reading other people’s arguments connected to your topic ad then stating your idea as a response to those ideas. It’s probably a good idea to use those other arguments to figure out exactly what you do think about the issue as well. I will use post articles that I think might be potentially useful throughout the semester and I’ll invite everyone to share their finds‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍ as well.
