Choose ONE aspect of identity, i.e. race, class, gender, mental health, religion

Choose ONE aspect of identity, i.e. race, class, gender, mental health, religion, sexuality, etc., and write an essay that examines this identity in ONE example of media such as a television show, film, book, an Instagram influencer, etc.
This is a short essay intended to help you focus understanding of one aspect of identity in the media therefore be as specific as possible in choosing your topic and making your points. For example, if you choose a TV show- focus on a few examples of the character’s trajectory through a season or on one particular episode. Find a way to narrow your focus. You MUST have a strong, clear, focused thesis statement that explains your topic!! The purpose is not to recount the narrative’s plot, but to explain demonstrate your argument.
For the Video or Short Story Option- you MUST contact me to discuss your project.
As a guideline for length if considering this option, the expectation is that as much work as you would put into the essay topic is how much work should go into your creative project.
For both options, Include at least 4 outside-of-course scholarly sources.
APA format only. You do not need to include an abstract or a running head, but you should follow all other APA guidelines, including a title page. See the below website:
