**** My focus student struggles with reading comprehension and the grade band is late elementary 3-5. Vocabulary acquisition is also a struggle when it comes to prefix and suffix.
Read articles from peer-reviewed journals that address an area of concern for your focus student’s reading experience (i.e. motivation, poverty, English Language Acquisition). Journals you may want to consider include: The Reading Teacher, the Journal of Reading, Language Arts, Primary Voices K-8, Reading Research Quarterly, Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy etc. published within the last seven years.
Identify a minimum of 5 articles from peer-reviewed journals that provide information to help you plan instruction for your focus student. Four of the articles should relate to the correction of reading/writing problems for students in the targeted grade band. One must include the use of technology as a resource. Articles must represent at least three different sources.
Write annotations for each article. Annotations should summarize the article in 3-5 sentences including a statement of how it is useful to your work with your focus student. Use APA style for citing. (See 7th edition).
Following the annotations, write a 2-page summary of your findings and their relevance to your work with your focus student to conclude the paper. No reference list is required.
