Because of the COVID 19-Pandemic we have lived since April 2019, I decided to propose a research study regarding the impact of the use of technology in elementary students.

Because of the COVID 19-Pandemic we have lived since April 2019, I decided to propose a research study regarding the impact of the use of technology in elementary students. The purpose of this study will be to analyze the impact of technology usage among elementary students during the virtual classes. The research question is:
What impact does the use of technology in education have among elementary students during virtual classes throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic.
After careful consideration and reviewing the information provided in the various readings, videos and weekly conference, I decided to use the Qualitative Research Design. This type of research is exploratory and includes interviews, listening to other people’s stories in an attempt to capture their feelings, views, and emotions about a specific event or subject. I feel that by following this approach, it will help me with the research study I plan to execute.
For the propose research study I plan to execute, I’ll be conducting several interviews to teachers, parents and students to identify the effects of the use of technology in education during the COVID-19 pandemic. I will be listening to other individuals’ stories to record their feelings, point of views and emotions during these difficult times. I want to know how educators felt as they were delivering instruction to their students through a digital educational platform. Additionally, I want to discover the emotions students and their parents experienced during this pandemic as they were adapting to the mandatory virtual classes. Overall, I will try to collect sufficient data via interviews, surveys and testimonies from the involved stakeholders to identify both, the positive and negative effects of technology during virtual classes

I decided to use the Qualitative Research Design because most of my data collected will be based on interviews, testimonies and surveys. I am interesting in knowing how all involved stakeholders feel regarding this unprecedented event. Because most of the collected data will be qualitative, then I will use qualitative data analysis techniques such as Content Analysis, Narrative Analysis and others.
