All writing assignments (except for discussion board and those completed in class) must be typed using standard format: – Microsoft Word document – 1” margins, standard 12 pt. Final drafts of assignments will receive extra credit points for minimal grammar issues. – When appropriate, use ASA guidelines for citations. Your response does not need to address all of the readings for that class session but it should not merely summarize the reading. Instead, your post should demonstrate your critical thinking skills and engagement with the main thesis of the readings and pose a question to the larger group. Some prompts to respond to are but not limited too: – Is there anything in the reading that you disagree with? How would you respond to these points raised by the authors? What are some alternative explanations to the main findings? – What else did this reading make you think of? How do the readings connect with prior materials, discussions, or something else you’ve read, watched, heard, etc.? – What lingering questions do these texts raise for you?
