A‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍ssignment details The aim of reflection is to help you gain an insight into your strengths and weaknesses in undertaking a presentation. Loo and Thorpe (2002, p. 135) apply the reflective process in the following way: It starts off with an awareness of the learning situation or event. This awareness might trigger some emotional reaction (positive or negative) or thoughts about the learning event. The second stage of the process is to undertake a critical analysis. This involves critically analysing the relevant knowledge and experience you have, as well as how you can apply this new knowledge. Self-awareness becomes the focus of this stage. The third stage relates to how this changed perspective has changed your emotions, thoughts and behaviour as a result of your critical analysis. The main objective of a reflective journal is to ’translate theory into practical action, that is, a praxis’ (Loo & Thorpe 2002, p. 135). In alignment with this, please divide your reflection to include the following headings: Awareness—what have you learned from undertaking this assignment and how did you feel about this learning? Critical analysis—how does this learning impact on your strength‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍s and weaknesses as a business student? Learning—what are your future perceptions about this for your future professional practice? While following the format outlined, your written reflection should contain a response to the following questions: Describe your experiences of delivering the presentation. What were you thinking and feeling at the time? When you look back, identify two positive aspects of your presentation skills and two aspects that you want to strengthen. For both, detail why you think those aspects were positive and could be strengthened. List two ideas for improving your presentation skills. What will you do?
