Introduction: The Embargo Act of 1808 had drastic impacts on New England shippers, merchants, sailors, and any business associated with United States trade abroad. The Congressional Declaration of the War of 1812 and the continuation of the war further alienated and angered New England Federalists.
Be sure to read the appropriate sections and the textbook regarding the War of 1812, lecture notes, and watch John Green’s War of 1812 video. Review the proposed amendments to the Constitution proposed by the Hartford Convention, 1814 document. Select three of the amendments.
