Using the Basic Features for this essay at the start of Chapter 4 in St. Martin’s Guide analyze one of the essays in either chapter 4 of Sticks and Stones or chapter 4 of St. Martin’s Guide. The basic features for this essay are covered on pages 109-112 of the St. Martin’s Guide.
The Basic Feature are the critical features that must be present in every concept essay. You are to analyze how the author is using these features in the essay you choose.
Be sure to use a new essay–not one that you have written on already.
Identify the essay you are using right at the start of your journal in the title line.
Be sure to speak SPECIFICALLY about how the essay uses each of the basic features. Be sure to refer to the essay you chose and speak about it specifically using specific details from the essay.

Journals must have a clear and well supported central idea. This central idea should be a response or answer to the assignment topic.
You must use specific details from the essay the assignment topic is asking about. Generic statements without specific details to develop and support your ideas are not acceptable.
Journals are a minimum of 750 words.
