Each student must summarize a minimum of two peer-reviewed empirical articles/studies related to the group’s agreed-upon solution(s)/theme(s). These sources must not be older than 10 years old.
Students must work together to avoid using the same article/study and to select relevant literature (e.g., studies assessing the effectiveness of school-based extracurricular activities on the self-esteem of female adolescents).
Students can review meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and/or literature reviews to guide their overall understanding of the solutions and protective factors; however, these do not satisfy the empirically based research criteria. Still, literature reviews can help your group narrow down the type of solution that your group will focus on.
The length of this assignment should be about 3-5 pages, depending on the length of your articles.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate school-based methods for increasing self- esteem among adolescent females. The first section of this literature review provides a background about school based interventions. The second section explores the findings from a study about the effectiveness of a school based intervention with a focus on students. The third section explores the findings about the usefulness of school based interventions with a focus on family. Finally, this paper concludes with a summary of practice recommendations and a critique of the literature.
