Put these together in one 3 slide presentation.
Upload the project to Canvas. If you use GoogleSlides you will share your presentation.
This way, we can see if you are comfortable making slides and adding slides to a presentation. You will create slides each week adding each week together to create your Public Health Masterpiece Project!

You will create a 3 slide presentation using the headings and prompts in my templates. You can use my background or create your own slide. I want to make sure you can edit slides and take slides and add them to a presentation. You will be doing this each week so this is just fun practice.

Here is my example presentation! (Below) (Notice how all the red instructions are gone! And I put the two templates together. If you can do these things, you are prepared for the assignment!)

E- and the rest same as any assignment including conclusion

Write a letter to an official in your state or local government. (Choose the individual in the level of government that will best address your issue). The purpose of this letter is to advocate for action with regards to your chosen health care environment issue.
Summarize the health care economic issue that you are addressing.Keep this brief but try to include details about how the issue is currently impacting the elected officials’ constituents.
Explain the positive outcomes that will occur if the issue is addressed and the negative outcomes that will occur if the issue is not addressed.Tailor this messaging to focus on the impacts in the communities and organizations that are relevant to the elected official you are writing to.
Summarize key information from scholarly sources to support the importance of addressing the issue; the issue’s overall impact on health care at the institutional, local, state, or national level; and proposed changes or actions to address the issue.Cite at least five current, scholarly sources that support your argument and help provide the elected official (who may not have a detailed knowledge of the health care environment) with an understanding of the issues, changes, or actions that you are proposing to drive improved outcomes.
Identify the impact your issue has on health care institutions and health care providers at the local community, state, or national level.
Make sure to include information from both a health care and an economic perspective. An elected official may be more responsive to one perspective than another.
Incorporate social justice, structural racism, and inequity principles when picking resources and making recommendations for change in your assessment.

Convey purpose, in an appropriate tone and style, incorporating supporting evidence and adhering to organizational, professional, and scholarly communication standards.Remember to conclude your letter with a summary of your position on the issue and a compelling reason that the elected official should act in your favor and support your issue or initiative.

Develop a 15-slide business PowerPoint for the economic issue you have been working with as your topic in the previous assessment.
Summarize the problem and the potential impact the health care economic issue has on you, your colleagues, your organization, and the community at large.This is an opportunity to tell your story and what the initiative means to you as a health care practitioner. Remember, this is a presentation. So, you want to be engaging and persuasive in order to build support for what you will be proposing to do later in the presentation.
Explain the feasibility and cost-benefit considerations of your health care economic issue, as well as three ways to mitigate risks to the financial security of your organization or health care setting.Make sure to present at least an overview of the data and numbers you are basing your cost-benefit analysis on.
Touch upon the ways in which potential risks could pose a threat to the financial security of your organization or care setting while you are addressing the ways to mitigate risk.
Support your explanation with evidence-based research or scholarly sources.
Describe the changes or solution that you propose be implemented in order to address the economic issue.Include the potential benefits of implementation to your organization, your colleagues, or the community at large.
Support your initiative with evidence-based research or scholarly sources.
Explain how your proposed solution is culturally sensitive, ethical, and equitable within the context of the community and health care setting it will be implemented.Make sure that your changes or solution are not unfairly burdening or disadvantaging any specific groups.
Double check that your changes or solution do not pose any ethical issues and are not culturally insensitive.
Ensure that both access and cost are equitable across all groups in the community that the proposed solution will be affecting.
Convey purpose, in an appropriate tone and style, incorporating supporting evidence and adhering to organizational, professional, and scholarly communication standards.

Write a 2.5-4 page paper (double-spaced, 12 pt. font) on one of the prompts below.
2. Your paper must include at least six examples from at least four different chapters. This is a one source paper. Do not do additional research beyond The Battle that Stopped Rome.
3. Use page number citations for your examples. Page number citations are required both for direct quotes and for paraphrasing. See below.
4. Submit your paper on Canvas by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday 20October.
How to cite the book:
Example 1: Wells explains that the Romans looked after their soldiers: “A nutritious diet, a carefully monitored water supply, and strict rules about sanitation helped keep the troops healthy.” (183)
Example 2: Wells explains that the Romans looked after their troops and made sure they had nutritious food, plenty of water, and clean camps. (183)
Note that in example 2 I did not directly quote the author, but I clearly was referring to his idea so I need a page number reference.
Paper Prompts: Choose one and only one of the questions below for your paper.
Option 1: Using Evidence
This book sits at the intersection of history, anthropology, and archeology. Peter Wells is a professor of anthropology. Explain the different types of evidence Wells uses throughout the book. How does he interpret archeological sites and evidence? Note: The Appendixes are useful for answering this question. For the assignment, the appendixes count as one chapter.

Wells states “Rome lost the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, and three of its legions, because Augustus and his advisers did not understand the peoples of northern Europe or the changes those societies were undergoing.” (214)

In this exercise you will learn how to create a non-destructive smart filter that can be selectively applied using a smart filter mask. You will learn about the benefits of non-destructive editing and how to put those methods into practice in day-to-day Photoshop projects. Follow along with the supplemental video tutorial from TutVids or utilize the written instructions below to complete the exercise.

Download the sample image provided.
Open the image in Adobe Photoshop.
Right click on the image layer and convert the image to a Smart Object.
Applying any filter to a Smart Object automatically makes it a “Smart Filter.” Create a pixelated smart filter by going to “Filter” > “Pixelate” > “Mosaic” in the Photoshop menu bar and setting the cell size to 45, then click Ok.
With smart filters, you can edit or delete the filter effect after you’ve created it. You can also mask them to a specific area. Edit the filter by double-clicking the name of the filter just below the Smart Filter mask in the layers panel and increase the pixel cell size to 75 square. Then click Ok.
Now you are going to add a mask to a portion of the smart filter. Using the Rectangular Marquee tool drag a selection over the statue and click on the smart filter mask in the layers panel.
In the Photoshop menu navigate to “Select” > “Inverse” to invert your selection and hit “Cmd/Ctrl + I” to invert the white in your layer mask to black and hide the effect around the statue.
Use the key command “Cmd/Ctrl + D” to deselect.
Double click adjustment sliders icon in the layers panel and use it to create a “Vivid Light” adjustment so you can highlight the filter area.
Save the image as a PSD file with the layers intact using the naming convention “marquette_smartfilter.psd” and upload it to the assignment page to complete the exercise file.
