For this assignment, you are to create an infographic about ability OR aging in sports and record yourself presenting it.
You will have to do a little research for this assignment!
You will submit two components for this assignment:
Part 1: Create and submit your infographic
Part 2: Record yourself resenting your infographic and submit your recording.
Objectives
Develop a nuanced understanding of the relationship between aging and sports.
Critically engage with various course concepts related to ability and aging.
Understand how sports intersect with other social categories, identities, or inequalities.

Part 1: What’s an Infographic?
Infographics are documents that blend information, analysis, persuasive writing, and a creative, engaging graphic. (See some examples below.)
Find a Sport
Consider a sport individuals or athletes play as they age. AND/OR
Consider a sport individuals or athletes play with disabilities or as abilities change.
The following questions should guide and inform your infographic sport:
Who plays the sport as older adults?
Who plays the sports a disabled or differently abled person?
Are there specific demographics characteristics among those who play? Do these changes as their abilities change (perhaps with age)?
What are the financial costs for this sport? To participate? To organize? How is it paid for?
What do participants learn or get out of their participation?
What are the positive and negative outcomes for participation in this sport (i.e., behavioral changes, injuries, work, school)? For younger participations, what are some outcomes as adults (i.e., Shown to do better at work? Graduate high school or college at better or worse rates, no outcomes at all)?
Mini-Research
Provide at least three (3) references. One should be a research article. One can be our book. One can be a sport organization or website.
If you can’t fit it your references section on your infographic, provide it in a separate document.

Here is a well-executed example of an infographic: Enough graphics to grab attention with enough text to be informative and interesting.

  The assignment requires you identify someone who immigrated to the United States from another country after the age of 15 and is willing to talk with you for at least an hour. Your consultant should not be a friend, or a relative unless approved by professor, but rather more like someone you meet standing in line for a movie, works at your job, fellow PTA member at your kid(s) school, or someone you’re acquainted with having been introduced to by a mutual friend or a family member.

Overview
Reflexivity is reflection for the purpose of personal growth and for developing a deeper understanding. Sometimes this understanding is of ourselves; sometimes it helps us to understand others. When we develop a better understanding of others and what they experience, we can grow, even if only in small ways. These reflections are a tool to promote that growth.

Purpose: This goal of this assignment is to bring attention to media that adds value to the topic covered in Chapter 7 and examine the link between theory and real-world examples.
Task: Chapter 7 discusses leadership. Find a piece of media, such as a video clip, advertisement, or article, that exemplifies a concept in Chapter 7. Identify what concept/s it illustrates, explain how it illustrates the concept/s, and analyze as it relates to the chapter. Your post should be at least 3 paragraphs long (a paragraph should be at least 3 sentences).
A successful student will:
Identify a piece of media that illustrates a concept in Chapter 7.
Post that piece of media to the appropriate discussion board.
Identify the concept the piece of media exemplifies.
Analyze the piece of media in the context of the Chapter 7 concepts.
Avoid posting a piece of media identical to another student’s.
Respond to at least two other students’ discussion board posts.
Ensure the discussion board post is at least 3 paragraphs long (each paragraph should be at least 3 sentences).
 

 
Consider your Sidman reading this week. He indicated that often positive reinforcement is not used because many consider it to be nothing but bribery. Today, that attitude is growing stronger. Many popular educational sites shun using “rewards” because it causes a “decrease in intrinsic motivation” and that people should not be rewarded for “doing things they are supposed to be doing”. What is your position on this argument? Please defend using scholarly resources and writing, all in behavioral terms.

4.  At times, a group’s fantasy theme may not be supported by those outside the group. Can you think of a situation or circumstance when sharing fantasies may build up a group’s identity but still be problematic?
