Discussion Assignment Instructions
You will post one thread that is between 300 and 350 words. When addressing each assigned topic, you must incorporate relevant ideas from at least two of the required course texts in the thread. Threads must demonstrate course-related knowledge and assertions must be supported by references in current APA format. Use of first person and single-spaced formatting is appropriate in Discussions, while inclusion of headings/subheadings is not. Threads must be well written, well organized, and focused.

Discussion Thread: Types of Groups
Several different types of groups are described in this module’s readings. Describe a group that you might like to lead, including the type of group, its size, inclusion criteria, and whether it is open or closed. Identify the group’s purpose. What topics will be covered; how often will the group meet and for how long? What leadership styles and skills demonstrated in the course-embedded videos will be appropriate?

Methodology (Approximately 2-3 pages): Describe the research methods and data sources you will use to investigate the research question. Explain why you chose these methods and how they will help you answer the question.
Data Analysis (Approximately 2-3 pages): Present and analyze the data related to income inequality in urban and rural areas, as well as the implementation of social and economic policies. Use appropriate statistical tools and charts to illustrate your findings.
Results (Approximately 1-2 pages): Summarize the key findings of your data analysis, addressing how social and economic policies impact income inequality.
Discussion (Approximately 3-4 pages): Interpret the results in the context of the existing literature. Discuss the implications of your findings for social cohesion and economic development in both urban and rural areas. Explore any policy recommendations that emerge from your research.

Paper #2, 3-4 pages
Using Chapters / parts 2-4, appraise/analyze the theories discussed and the data presented to explain civic and political participation in various European countries. In particular, analyze the factors that increase participation for women, minorities and migrants.

Next, analyzing the articles and sites enclosed on the US (Module 2…also see links below, all are not necessary, just probably 3-4), compare and contrast the US data/findings with those that you witnessed in Europe. Overall, what are some of the similarities and differences between the two? Also, what do you think of these conclusions? Are there any other reasons/data that the authors may be leaving out that may explain high or low levels of civic participation?
