This is an argumentative research paper for a History of Science college course, senior level. Please see all attachments and read carefully as well as reach out to me with additional questions. The paper guideline is the attachment labeled “Argumentative Research Paper 2” which includes some topics you can choose from to expand upon, CHOOSE ONLY 1 TOPIC. In addition to the final paper, I need to submit a Draft or paper plan before submitting this final research paper (THE PAPER PLAN WILL ALSO BE GRADED SO PLEASE INCLUDE IT AS A SEPARATE DOCUMENT); please see the attachment labeled “Paper Plan(required) OR Full Draft (optional) for Paper 2”, this tells you what the paper plan or draft should include for submission as well as the attachment labeled “Example Paper Plan” is an example paper plan layout that the instructor wants us to follow. (Do not pay attention to the due dates on the attachments, the DRAFT/PAPER PLAN is due Nov15 and the actual FINAL PAPER is due Nov 22) but I want both back by Nov 14 to make sure its ok and have enough time to send the the TAs to review it. I’ve attached all the lecture PowerPoints from Module 2 labeled “lec 6-1, lec 7-1, lec 8-2″, lec 9-2”, as this research paper is also based on information we covered in Module 2, BUT DO NOT USE THE ATTACHED LECTURE POWERPOINTS AS A CITATION/SOURCE, I merely attached it to give you an idea of what this course and module was about so far. Please do not use more than two scholarly sources in this argumentative paper, as the instructor does not want us to use too many sources. Our first step onto the battlefield that is written argumentation is the Polemic Argument. This is the most common type of argument today. You can find millions of these types of arguments on Facebook.
Purpose: To express a semi-informed opinion about one of the topics we chose in class.
Audience: Your peers, but keep in mind that your strong opinion will only be embraced by a few.
Voice: Semi-formal, Academic
Emphasis: Problems stemming from Abortion, Racial Justice, Mental Health, and Gambling.
Support: One or two articles used to bring credibility to your claim. These can be somewhat out of context if it is necessary to take them out of context.
Organization: See Polemic Argument in a Nutshell hand out.
Format: MLA format; In-text citations; Works Cited Page; 750-

The polemic form is a “strident presentation of an opinion… [or] a strident attack on or refutation of the opinion or perspective offered by someone else on a current social concern.” The polemic allows writers to present their positions more forcefully than other argumentative forms: the writer can express anger, frustration, or even humorous exasperation at the response to a current issue. The polemic is normally brief (similar to and frequently appearing as an op-ed) and can employ humor and irony, but it must present an alternative solution to the problem or a call to action

The Guidebook is in the blackboard content and has sections A-F. This assignment MUST BE DONE before your 3D scene investigation. Purpose of the Introduction: ·       To familiarize the reader with the topic, present the current state of the field, and convince them of the need for further study on this issue (i.e. to convince the scientific community that you have identified a scientific problem and will add a new aspect to the scientific discussion/field). o   A good introduction is like a good sales pitch! Components of the Introduction: Note: Each numbered component below should be one paragraph in your introduction.   1.     Identify the Research Problem: In the first paragraph of this assignment, start with a brief description of the problem/topic: what/why is it a problem, who does it impact, what are the overall implications. Include key statistics to emphasize the importance/magnitude of the topic/problem. Briefly mention what still needs to be addressed (through additional research).   2.     Definition/Explanation of Terms: Explain the scientific explanation/definitions of the problem. For example, if your topic is a disease, describe what causes it, how/why it develops, symptoms, disease progress, and anything beyond the definition that is necessary. This is a scientific proposal and should provide the reader with enough detail to understand the topic of the proposal.     3.     Population: Describe the population affected by the topic (gender, ethnicity, age, occupational exposure, etc.). Describe the topic within the population (what implications does the topic have).   4.     Current Standards and Potential Changes: Describe how is this problem/topic currently dealt with/treated/managed and introduce/explain the second variable that should be correlated OR implemented (depending on the type of study you are conducting).   5.     Recent Review Study: Provide a general overview of the current state of the literature on your topic using at least 1 review, systematic review, or meta-analysis relevant to your topic. Briefly state what they studied and what they found (purpose, how many studies included, main results). This provides the reader with a snapshot of the current knowledge of the topic.     6.     Conclusion:  Provide a recap of the topic/problem, what is currently known, and indicate that there is a need for further study (what is the gap in the literature?). This may be due to either a lack of or contradictory information. End with how information obtained could be applied. The conclusion of your introduction should clearly indicate the need for study on this topic.   **NOTE: The introduction should answer the following:   What is the general idea/problem under investigation? Why is this topic/research important?
