1. Do a brief survey of Scriptural teaching on the “heart” of man. How does the Bible use this term and what implications does this usage have for understanding a worldview?
2.How does one’s worldview develop?
3. What does pretheoretical mean? What does Sire think is pretheoretical and how does this relate to our awareness of God? (cf. Romans 1:19)

INSTRUCTIONS
Based upon your previous readings especially Being Conformed to Christ (chs. 5–6) begin to explore your emerging understanding of the role of the Christian community (the body of Christ) in the spiritual formation process. Plan on writing 3 pages (double-spaced in 12 point Times New Roman font) and draw out any reading or course materials from previous modules that may be relevant to what you are writing in this section of your paper. Edit this portion of your paper for typos, spelling, and grammar. Be sure to make corrections to previously submitted portions so that you do not continue to receive point deductions for the same mistakes. You must follow current APA format as you write your paper.

RESEARCH PAPER: NON-CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
In this assignment, you will learn and articulate how a worldview of your choice (one of four
options) would answer each of the five worldview questions. You should not only know what
you believe but what people from other worldviews believe as well. This becomes essential in
sharing your beliefs with them. However, you should never assume what a person believes based
upon the worldview they claim to follow i.e. Secular Humanism, Hinduism, Buddhism, or Islam.
For example, do all Christians have the same religious beliefs? No. Neither do followers of other
worldviews. That is why it is important to build a relationship with them first, so you know what
they believe and why they believe it.
INSTRUCTIONS
For this assignment, you are to choose one of four worldviews (Secular Humanism, Hinduism,
Buddhism, or Islam) and learn and articulate how that worldview would answer the five
worldview questions (400 – 500 words). Review chapters four and five of Finding Your
Worldview: Thinking Christianly about the World for content and clarity to these questions.
 Cover page – This is the first page to be included in your paper. This should be formatted
according to the style (APA, MLA, Turabian) that you will be using for this assignment.
Refer to the Writing Style Guide sample paper of the style you are using to format this
page. If you are using APA, an Abstract is not required.

below. A word count is required after each assignment.
This assignment will be submitted in multiple parts over the course of this class.
Implement any changes from the professor from their comments to the Worldview
Definition Assignment and Biblical Worldview Assignment. This will be the first
part of your paper. Add the content below after these two assignments.
(400 – 500 words) Choose one of the four worldviews (Secular Humanism, Hinduism,
Buddhism, or Islam) and in five separate paragraphs, answer the worldview questions of
Origin, Identity, Meaning (Purpose), Morality, and Destiny from that worldview’s
perspective. Clearly identify the worldview you have chosen in your content. Use and
cite content from at least two sources. At least one of the sources must be outside of the
materials used in this course (this would include the Bible, any required reading or
videos, and the required textbooks). Since this content would not be considered “common
knowledge” be sure to cite specific content that you put in your own words or quotes you
add to your assignment to avoid plagiarism.

come into existence?)
