nstructions
The concept of Servant Leadership has been very popular since Greenleaf first wrote about it in 1970. Many Christians subscribe to this model of leadership as the most appropriate model for Christian leaders to use. In this course, you are studying the constructs of Steward leadership, which some would say is a broader construct that includes Servant leadership.
Use the materials from this course along with 3-5 other scholarly sources.
Write a 5 page paper comparing and contrasting these two different models of leadership.
Remember to include a title page, abstract, running header, and reference page in APA format, but these do not count toward the page count.

As you listen the lectures in this unit of the course, answer the questions below. You must submit your responses as a homework assignment by the due date. Your responses should be submitted as numbered bullet points (just like what you see below). This will help me in grading (because I typically like to grade all of #1, then all of #2, etc, and this is easier with numbered lists). Additionally, you should use your answers to these questions as study notes when you take Quiz 1.

Consider the concepts of religion as a group phenomenon, church-sect typology, fundamentalism, religious socialization, and conflict associated with religion, all of which you should read about for this assignment. What is the most important of these concepts in explaining the state of religion in the modern world? How does that concept compare to at least one of the others? How does this (or either) concept apply to at least one of the religious groups you’ve learned about in this class?

These papers are to be composed according to the following format (include these headings):
Analytical Concept (1-2 paragraphs): Choose any concept or idea from the unit we’ve just covered (economy of gratitude, maximizer, family as eucharistic, etc.) and briefly outline the way the author uses this concept.
Critique the Concept (1 page): Show what works if needed, but, more importantly, focus on what does not work or is missed through the author’s use of that concept. Either reappropriate or reject the concept and offer a new, more illuminating concept.
Apply Your Concept (2 pages): Take a concrete instance from real life (Compare parenting magazines from different decades, your experience working at a bridal boutique, compare pro-same sex marriage bumper stickers’ use of “family” with that of those against it… really, get creative) and apply your new and improved concept to it, illustrating how, at least in this instance, the author may not be fully “on” in her own analysis.
Evaluate the situation (2 pages): What do you think of this situation—using your newly revised concept—from a moral standpoint? Consider questions such as: How does this concept or issue affect the common good? How does it contribute to or hinder the flourishing of individuals? How do larger social forces (such as poverty, law, etc.) interact with this situation? What are some solutions to this problem? In sum, tell us if this is a positive or negative situation for individuals or society given your own moral context.
