For this assignment, you will create an infographic that communicates the information below. Review the attached handout for infographic resources and options. 

Describe the symptoms and characteristics of schizophrenia.
Briefly explain treatment options for schizophrenia.

 
Discuss how biological contributions, social influences, and cultural variations influence the expression of Psychological disorders.

To prepare:
Review the Learning Resources on self-care and sustaining the personal self.
Access and navigate to your selected case in the Case Studies interactive media in the Learning Resources.
Consider how to motivate and empower your client toward self-care, and how you might engage in discussion about what those self-care needs are. Consider what strategies you might employ (e.g., motivational interviewing, education, use of self, etc.)
Using the Handout Resources in the Learning Resources, develop a 1-page educational handout or visual on self-care to use with your client.

Ensure that you have a quiet place to record without any distractions. 
Record and submit a 2- to 3-minute Kaltura video, in which you speak directly to your chosen social worker. In your video: 
Empower the client to engage in personal self-care strategies. What would be an appropriate starting place?
Use a self-created 1-page handout to educate and guide your client on self-care strategies to address vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, or burnout (as appropriate to the case). 
Include a transcript and/or edit closed captioning on your video to ensure that your presentation is accessible.  

To prepare:
Review the Learning Resources on self-care and reflect on self-care as an ethical responsibility outlined in the NASW Code of Ethics. 
Consider the six domains of self-care and your practices and habits related to those domains, as well as future habits you want to initiate.   
Post an explanation of why you think self-care has been officially added to the NASW Code of Ethics. What circumstances have led to this change? Then, describe the six domains of self-care. Identify your past self-care practices relative to each domain and the extent to which you consistently engage in these practices. Finally, explain at least one self-care activity that you will deliberately and consistently implement for the remainder of the course.
