Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
Classical and Operant conditioning, while both are under the behaviorist category and involve conditioning, have some significant differences.
Classical conditioning involves learning through the association of stimuli, while operant conditioning involves learning through consequences.
Think of a behavior that you would like to change in yourself or someone you know. Select either classical conditioning or operant conditioning. Explain how the chosen theory could explain how this problematic behavior developed and then how you could use this theory to change it. Why is the theory that you chose a better choice than the other?

Imagine that you are hired as a consultant for a manufacturing company that makes car parts. The company has found that employee productivity has dropped significantly over the past year, and it wants your help to create a plan to increase it, as there is not enough supply of its parts available to keep up with the orders it is receiving.
Research products that require manufacturing. Consider the processes that influence production, particularly areas that create bottlenecks in terms of supply chain orders. Identify a task within the area and target a behavior that if modified would alleviate the bottleneck.
Develop a 350- to 700-word expanded outline for your plan to help increase employee productivity using the operant conditioning methods of shaping and chaining or reinforcement schedules.
Make sure that your plan:
Includes an introduction that highlights the:
Company
Product
Demand
Manufacturing process
The problem
Describes the target behavior you have selected for your intervention
Include an explanation of how the behavior is being classically conditioned.
Identifies how it could be specifically applied to the scenario
Maps the operant conditioning process you intend to apply
Challenges you might face with this intervention
Cite your sources in APA format within the outline and provide an APA formatted reference page at the end.
Format your summary consistent with APA guidelines.
Format your expanded outline as a Microsoft® Word document.

Abstinence Letter (Part A) – Focus on Caffine
This exercise is designed to help the student experience some of the feelings/thoughts that addicted individuals experience when they quit their drug or behavior of choice.
During this assignment, the student will (a) write an introductory letter to the student’s substance/behavior discussing the substance or behavior you decided to abstain from, the impact it has had on your life, and why you selected to give up this particular behavior. This assignment will have the following components:
a) “Letter to my Substance/Behavior” – This letter should be written in the first person to the substance/behavior from which the student is abstaining.  For example, “caffeine, you have always been there for me in the morning…”).
The following areas should be addressed in your letter.
How my addictive substance/behavior is loved and is considered a “friend.”
How my addictive substance/behavior is sensual (appeals to my senses).
How my addictive substance/behavior provides “healing” or is a “balm” to my emotional wounds.
How my addictive substance/behavior controls and promotes my feelings of helplessness and entrapment.
How my addictive substance/behavior is hated – what it has “cost” me.
A description of the strategies you plan to use to be successful can also be included (approximately 1 page).

This moving story remind us of the impact of addictions on those around us.  Please listen to this story and process it in your discussion from the perspective of the impact of the addiction on the relationships within the family and reflect on what the experience may have been like for a child.
How did drugs impact the young lady’s life?
What part(s) of the story stood out to you?
What was the impact of substance abuse on the family members who do not abuse substances?  How were generations affected?
Thinking as a social worker, what types of challenges can you see having to be dealt with in the story? What types of roles can you see a social worker filling for the client or family?

Have you ever noticed that no matter how difficult the situation, if you can find humor in it, it becomes more manageable? Even in moments of loss, people remember their loved ones by reminiscing about the funny things they did or said. Many circumstances are judged by how they make you feel. Even in the face of serious illness, an active sense of humor can lessen its effects and improve the likelihood of a more positive outcome. These examples suggest that humor appears to buffer against the effects of stress. The effects of a good sense of humor benefit the body in a variety of ways.
Participating in a good laugh is not the only activity you might overlook when it comes to managing stress. A restful sleep provides a wealth of benefits to the mind as well as the body. Think back to the last time you had to get up early and despite having too little sleep, you had to keep going. Consider how the lack of sleep affected your mood, appetite, energy level, performance, and your interactions with others. People often trivialize their need for sleep, despite the numerous benefits it provides to mood, concentration, and coping with stress. The focus on connections between sleep, stress, and health are particularly timely because sleep patterns are changing. Between the late 1950s and the early 1990s, the average reports of adult sleep dropped from 8 to 9 hours a night to 7 to 8 hours a night. Recent studies report increasing numbers of individuals sleeping less than 6 hours a night. The annual direct cost of dealing with sleep deprivation in the United States is estimated to be $16 billion a year. Indirect costs are estimated at $50 to $100 billion and include motor vehicle and other accidents, resultant litigation, property destruction, medical costs, loss of productivity, and death.
For this Discussion, review this week’s Learning Resources including the “Humor and Sleep Hygiene: Your Natural Allies Against Stress” handout. Students with a last name beginning with A–M, research articles on the effects of humor on stress and health and then respond to Discussion A. Students with a last name beginning with N–Z, research illnesses related to stress and poor sleep habits and then respond to Discussion B.
With these thoughts in mind:
D1-A: Post by Day 4 an explanation of humor’s effect on the health condition. Then explain how humor might impact the stress response. Finally, describe how humor might effectively be used in stress management training. Be specific.
D1-B: Post by Day 4 an explanation of the relationship between sleep and stress, including any impact the relationship may have on stress hormones. Then explain how sleep deprivation and stress might contribute to the development of an illness. Finally, explain two concepts you might include in sleep hygiene education and explain why. Be specific.
Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.

Respond to the following from a psychodynamic perspective. Use theoretical information to back up your statements.

Identify one Campbell family member and discuss how childhood experiences would have impacted their development and now impacts current behaviors. Use a psychodynamic perspective to develop this argument.
Identify two defensive mechanisms and how the family member is using them to either continue specific behaviors and/or to protect themselves.
Provide (at least) two evidence-based interventions that would assist this Campbell family member during this session, as you discuss childhood experiences and current impact to client issues or concerns.

Karen Campbell is a 34–year–old female. Her father is Hispanic, second generation from Mexico, and her mother was Hopi Native American. She is a stay–at–home mom who works part time for a friend with a house cleaning business.
Karen’s father is 55. He lives on the family ranch where Karen grew up, and Karen says she sees him a couple of times a year. Karen’s mother passed away two years ago at the age of 51 from heart failure.
Karen has no siblings. Her brother committed suicide when he was 14 years old. Karen was 10 at the time.
Karen was raised Catholic, but has not attended church in over 20 years.
Karen is a stay at home mom that works part time for a friend who has a house cleaning business.
Karen says that she started dating Joe in the eighth grade. They married when Karen got pregnant with Kali at the age of 17. They have been married for 17 years, with two previous separations. The first separation was when Karen was three months pregnant with Kali and Joe enlisted with the Army. Karen says her mother made her move back home at that time, because she didn’t trust Joe. When Joe finished his two–year commitment, they reconciled, right after Karen delivered Jacob.
The second separation was two years ago, and Joe actually filed for separation. Karen says it was because she was not coping well with her mother’s death, that she “just fell apart.” Joe didn’t know how to handle it, so he just left. (For his part, Joe says he left her because she was depressed and drinking herself to death like her mother did.)
Karen says she is anxious about obtaining help, but that she also feels guilty, and that she is a failure as a parent.
She says, “My kids used to like me, we used to be close. Now they never talk to me —they avoid me, really. I’ve failed them as a mother, so now I really have no purpose in life.”
Karen reports one good girlfriend whom she does not see often. She does not go out socially, and she drinks at home to “calm her nerves.”
Karen presents as unkempt, frazzled, and nervous. She has dark circles under her eyes and looks physically unhealthy.
Karen reports a previous diagnosis of depression and has active diabetes. She also reports current high levels of anxiety.

1.Describe your implementation of kindness: what you did, where you implemented it, and to whom. What reactions did you receive from others? How did those reactions make you feel?
2.Consider your own motivations for prosocial behavior.  How does social exchange theory explain the ways in which you choose to help others? How do social norms and reciprocal altruism predict how and when you help others?
3.Per the Chapter 9 readings, there are two opposing theories of why we help others- the negative state relief model and the empathy-altruism model. Compare these two models, and explain which you most agree with and why. Offer examples illustrating these models at work in your own life.
4.If you are a faith-based person, explain how your faith helped you implement your helping behavior. If you are not a faith-based person, explain what philosophy, belief system, or values you connected to helping behavior. How might the concept of social responsibility norms play a role here?
5.Review the Topic 8 resources on Servant Leadership. What elements of servant leadership relate to what you learned about prosocial behavior? How might you use the tenants of Servant Leadership and the concepts from your readings to be a better servant
