We have studied database management systems in class and now we are here to solve real life database problems using the techniques we learned in class. Our team of four will work together to form a hospital database management system which will allow patient check ins/data storage, patient records, appointments, and medical inventory.The database will also allow sharing of data among several departments and storing key information about various patients and their conditions.
The goals of the project would be to come up with a solution to manage a hospital database/storage system. This would include having an access control scenario where information can be managed and retrieved/updated. The database would allow various departments to collaborate and access/insert records.

Database Design and Development:
We will create a robust database schema to store patient information, appointment records, medical staff data, and inventory data. This database will serve as the central repository for all hospital-related data.
Project Implementation
The project will be started by creating a visual diagram (ERD) to determine the entities and their attributes and how they relate to each other. Then we will create basic tables to determine and connect primary and secondary keys among tables. Once we have the physical diagram/architecture, we will start implementing the diagram tables in a relational database management system i.e. mySQL. Furthermore, we will create a set of scripts that will allow us to retrieve or update data from tables and update information accordingly. We will use various techniques such as triggers, stored procedures etc. to come up to a working database solution.

It is very basic in design and limited in what it can provide for the company. For example, the database does not store customer payments, supplier transactions, or employee financial details. You have been asked to develop a white paper describing the security features that need to be applied to the Bike Stores database to maintain proper protection of sensitive financial details. Research the security features of Microsoft SQL Server, which is the relational database management system (RDBMS) leveraged by the company. Describe how specific Microsoft SQL Server security features will protect sensitive Bike Stores data. Also, note challenges or issues associated with security measure implementation.
