In week 8, you will be submitting your research journal.  In this discussion, create and post your outline for that journal, making sure that you use complete sentences for all elements of the outline. Include your thesis statement in the outline in bold font. Remember that, if you have one sub-heading, you should have at least one more. Do not make elements of your outline large blocks of text; usually a sentence or two will suffice for each element. 

Using the information in this week’s required readings, compose an abstract which summarizes your  topic problem, highlights key research sources, and offers a solution. The abstract should be one page in length. A good spot to see a sample abstract is at the Purdue OWL site, looking at the citation style you are using. 
Notes: 
MLA doesn’t typically use an abstract but, if you are using MLA (for topics related to language and literature), please build an abstract.Doing so gives you good practice on summarizing a large journal. 
If you are using APA format, you will need to include key words as part of your abstract.

Using the information from this week’s reading material, submit an Annotated Bibliography of five (5) sources from your working bibliography. Two (2) of the sources must be peer reviewed article. First, put the source in the correct citation format for your particular curricular division, and then write a brief annotation of that source.  The annotation should describe the main ideas covered in the source as well as an evaluation by you for the source’s usefulness for your project. The value of the source to your project should be included, as well as information about the credentials of the author(s). Remember that an online source can be a number of things. It can be a book, journal article, blog, podcast script, website, government report, newspaper article or editorial, or something else. Be sure to analyze each source carefully and follow the style guide in presenting the needed info.  One goal in your annotation is to help your readers find the source if they want more information, so make it easy for them to do so.
Your final JOURNAL must include a minimum of seven (7) sources with at least four (4) sources coming from peer-reviewed journals taken from the APUS library.   Please note that you are encouraged to include all four (4) of your sources coming from peer-reviewed journals taken from the APUS library in this annotated bibliography.  However, at least two (2) of the sources for the annotated bibliography MUST be peer reviewed.
Both MLA and APA styles use a hanging indent and double-spacing for each entry at the end of the JOURNAL. Please be sure to check your work with a current style guide, such as those in the APUS Library, or the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL).

You have three options before you for a weapon. A fan rake, a screwdriver, and a frying pan. You can only reach one of them before being attacked. Make your choice. Now that you have your weapon, what do you do next to survive? Run? Stand your ground?
What movies, TV shows, net series, poems, writings, anime, video games or other forms of entertainment have influenced your life in a positive or negative way? Explain in detail what your choice is (not everyone may know of it) and why it affected you so intensely.
You wake up one morning and find yourself to be completely invisible. Everything you wear or touch is also invisible and lasts for as long as you wish. What would you do with your newfound ability?
Many of us are fond of music that speaks to our particular generation. Write a story that convinces others not in your generation that your music is worth listening to. Choose one or more musicians, rappers or artists and explain why you think they’re so noteworthy. Be persuasive.
Observational Exercise: Grab a notepad or use your phone’s memo function. Go out and look for interesting characters around the campus. Go somewhere busy, where people are moving around, not just sitting. Practice making quick, discreet observations, taking in various hairstyles, clothes, shoes, jewelry, manner of walking, expression, etc. Spend about 20 minutes taking notes. You will be using these observations in a future so make it good!
