In 450-500, provide a brief statement of a biblical approach to work based on course readings and class discussion. An effective summary will not simply be various phrases copied and pasted from materials. An effective statement should provide a succinct but thorough summation of your readings and findings. 
In the same discussion, in 250-300 words, apply this material to your own life. You may be a full-time or part-time employee, a stay-at-home parent, or a student. Whatever your situation, these materials can be applied to your life. Take the principles discussed in your summary and apply them to your life. Have these materials changed your perspective on your work? What aspects of a biblical understanding of work are you already putting in practice? What areas could you change or improve?

 This week, we examine God’s purpose and vision for family. Taking what you learned this week, write a 300-350 word reflection on your own family experience. This reflection can focus on your marriage, your parents (biological, adopted or foster), siblings, etc. Be sure to connect your personal reflection to material studied this week. For example, you could discuss your marriage in light of what you learned about marriage as a covenant versus a contract. Or you could discuss how to be a more loving sibling in light of what you learned about the Trinity. For details on grading, please review the rubric for this assignment 

In week 8, you will be submitting your research journal.  In this discussion, create and post your outline for that journal, making sure that you use complete sentences for all elements of the outline. Include your thesis statement in the outline in bold font. Remember that, if you have one sub-heading, you should have at least one more. Do not make elements of your outline large blocks of text; usually a sentence or two will suffice for each element. 

Using the information in this week’s required readings, compose an abstract which summarizes your  topic problem, highlights key research sources, and offers a solution. The abstract should be one page in length. A good spot to see a sample abstract is at the Purdue OWL site, looking at the citation style you are using. 
Notes: 
MLA doesn’t typically use an abstract but, if you are using MLA (for topics related to language and literature), please build an abstract.Doing so gives you good practice on summarizing a large journal. 
If you are using APA format, you will need to include key words as part of your abstract.

Using the information from this week’s reading material, submit an Annotated Bibliography of five (5) sources from your working bibliography. Two (2) of the sources must be peer reviewed article. First, put the source in the correct citation format for your particular curricular division, and then write a brief annotation of that source.  The annotation should describe the main ideas covered in the source as well as an evaluation by you for the source’s usefulness for your project. The value of the source to your project should be included, as well as information about the credentials of the author(s). Remember that an online source can be a number of things. It can be a book, journal article, blog, podcast script, website, government report, newspaper article or editorial, or something else. Be sure to analyze each source carefully and follow the style guide in presenting the needed info.  One goal in your annotation is to help your readers find the source if they want more information, so make it easy for them to do so.
Your final JOURNAL must include a minimum of seven (7) sources with at least four (4) sources coming from peer-reviewed journals taken from the APUS library.   Please note that you are encouraged to include all four (4) of your sources coming from peer-reviewed journals taken from the APUS library in this annotated bibliography.  However, at least two (2) of the sources for the annotated bibliography MUST be peer reviewed.
Both MLA and APA styles use a hanging indent and double-spacing for each entry at the end of the JOURNAL. Please be sure to check your work with a current style guide, such as those in the APUS Library, or the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL).
