Scenario
The senior network architect at Corporation Techs has informed you that the existing border firewall is old and needs to be replaced. He recommends designing a demilitarized zone (DMZ) to increase network perimeter security. He also wants to increase the security of network authentication, replacing the current username and password approach.
Tasks
For this part of the project, perform the following tasks:
Research and select firewalls for the Corporation Techs network.

Overview
This assignment consists of two sections: a written project plan, and a Gantt chart that is created through the use of MS Project. You must submit the two sections as separate files for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name according to the section of the assignment it is written for. Additionally, you may create and/or assume all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.
Tip: Review instructor feedback from all of your assignments, particularly the Planning a Software Development Project assignment from Week 6. Be sure to implement any changes based on that feedback in this assignment.
Scenario
Due to your extensive ability and knowledge of project management, you have been promoted to senior project manager for a national cybersecurity organization. For this role, you will be responsible for managing the launch of a new cybersecurity service that will attract new customers. This project will require:
Updating cloud-based systems that interface with customers. This effort requires programmers to update databases and web interfaces that will include new cybersecurity
Performing billing configurations to financial information systems. This effort includes modifying the back-end programs that calculate billing and financial reports data and include new cybersecurity service rates.
Providing training on the new service for the company’s customer service staff. This effort includes developing an online training manual, conducting training for customer service staff, and updating an internal website with a Frequently Asked Questions section for the new cybersecurity service.
Your job is to assist in the development of each described deliverable.
Your team is composed of four web-based developers, one database manager, two network specialists, two technical trainers, and one technical writer. They are devoted to operational management duties 35 percent of the time. One of the web-based developers has recently joined the team and has minimal experience with configuring cloud-based systems.
The service product launch must be completed within nine months. Upper management is available to supply the necessary funding required to complete this project.
Instructions
Section 1: Written Project Plan
Write a 6 page paper in which you:
Select a project management framework/methodology that could be used to develop this project and ensure that project objectives are met. Provide the rationale for your selection.
Evaluate the possibility of using agile project management for any deliverables of the project.
Develop a WBS that meets the project scope. Provide details at the activity level for the efforts required to achieve each deliverable. Note: WBS must be in the indented format as shown in Figure 5.5B in Chapter 5 of the text.
List all possible resources that would be required for completing this project. Assign resources to each activity. Describe each resource’s role and the level of experience each activity would require.
Utilize estimation techniques to generate estimates of costs, resources, and durations for each activity. Determine the constraints that must be observed and the basis for each estimate.
Determine the monitoring and control process that will be utilized for the project. Include a discussion on how you would perform earned value analysis to provide details on project status.
Determine the values that could be utilized to calculate planned costs, actual costs, and earned value.
Develop a quality management plan that will minimize defects for project deliverables. Determine the frequency and metrics that will be utilized for inspections.
Determine the techniques that could be used to enumerate the various risks that may exist within the project. Recommend risk management practices that will mitigate ongoing risks throughout the project.
Use at least six quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality resources.

This is the resource sheet from Assignment 6. It is All the specifics in the assignment that I put in the highlights and anything from the scenario I did not add should be included. Then, who from the resources (people) given in the scenario will be working on that portion of the project?  What each person’s role will be doing. (just use the roles do not makeup names for them)

Remember the estimation techniques for the Week 6 assignment (PERT, Delphi, analogy, expert judgment, or rule of thumb). You need to estimate the cost, what resources, and how long each activity will take. Remember there is a nine-month window to complete, and we only have the resources for 35% of their week of 40 hours (approximately 13.5 hours per employee per week). FYI, this info is needed for the Gantt Chart for Section 2. 
Q6. Determine the monitoring and control process that will be utilized for the project. Include a discussion on how you would perform earned value analysis to provide details on project status.
Things like KPIs, EVM, Risk Management, Stakeholder communication, Issue tracking and QA are examples of things to use.  This is a discussion explain how you would use these in relation to this scenario for the cyber program. You do not need to use my list or all of my list. But you do need to explain why you chose the item and what that item will provide for project updates. 
Q7. Determine the values that could be utilized to calculate planned costs, actual costs, and earned value.
You did this for the last project in Week 8. Use best-guess numbers for this project. I am looking for the numbers and how you determined them, not for accuracy on this fake project. So make up what you think are reasonable numbers needed for the calculation. 
Q8. Develop a quality management plan that will minimize defects for project deliverables. Determine the frequency and metrics that will be utilized for inspections.
You did defect research in Week 8. Revisit that research and what steps can be used to minimize the defects in the deliverables (app, website, database, and engineering are all components of this project). You can concentrate on the development of the webpage and billing modifications. 
Q9. Determine the techniques that could be used to enumerate the various risks that may exist within the project. Recommend risk management practices that will mitigate ongoing risks throughout the project.
First write a short piece on Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks. Then for this scenario make a risk register. Give the risk. Why it is a risk. Also, the best way to mitigate the risk. Remember these are risks for the project itself not risks on the security service. 
***We did some of this in Week 8.  An example in the book is Table 11-4 for the RIsk Register. 
SECTION 2. GANTT CHART

Week 3 Assignment: Good vs Great Websites
Think about the last time you utilized a mobile application or attempted to build your mobile website.  What planning process did you go through before you began your project?  You may have considered the steps or tasks you needed to perform.  You may also have considered the resources and platforms needed for your outcome.  For example, which model fits your business domain needs?  Do you have time constraints that will make completing the web application/site complex within a reasonable period?  You may also have considered the myths surrounding developing mobile apps and the difficulties generally associated with mobile app development.  Please answer the following questions.  Write a 2-to-3-page response.
Illustrate how design & utility makes a difference between good vs. great websites.  Explain
Distinguish how deciding between a mobile application vs. a mobile website is an essential consideration for developers. Explain.
Examine how NoSQL databases be used in APP development. 
Interpret how push notifications are the preferred method of communication over instant messaging amongst young people.

Usability Journal
Each day, we use the Internet on our personal computers and mobile devices to access information and purchase goods. Websites often have their own mobile form factor while others maintain the same Website user experience, creating challenges when trying to use navigation, overcome errors, search, and complete the most mundane tasks. For this assignment, you are to review a website as well as a Mobile Site. For example, you would evaluate Amazon.com on Microsoft Edge (PC) and Amazon.com on your iPhone using Safari. Conducting a heuristic evaluation (self-evaluation), you will write an assessment on each Website answering the following questions: 
What Website did you evaluate?
What industry does the company participate in?
Looking at the online website, address three issues that require revision? For each issue, please provide a screenshot and explicitly mark why you feel this issue is problematic.
Looking at the online website, how would you suggest that the issues requiring revision are corrected based on what you have learned in the class so far?
Moving to the mobile site, compare those same three features. Did you find the user experience to be problematic or better suited for the mobile form factor?
With the mobile site, how would you enhance the experience for those same issues you found on the Website to be problematic. 
This paper length is 4 -6 pages. Since this is a personal review of a website, sources are not necessary. However, you are still to follow the APA format in presenting the paper.

After reading Chapter 5, how do you feel that social interaction has change the way a designer measures usability and human interaction? You are required to write a statement that is LIMITED to 150 words. This is an opinion question; therefore, research is not required. Should you cite the work of others, please provide the source of your opinion in APA format.
You must reply to one peer with 100 – 200 words. Initial response due by Thursday at 11:59pm, Peer Response Due By Sunday at 11:59pm. Failure to submit Initial Response before Thursday at Midnight results in a 50% deduction of points for initial contribution.
