You will likely want to select a journal that is a nursing journal that is focused on evidence-based practice, a nursing journal that is focused on mental health, or a more general nursing journal.
You need to locate a journal that will publish reports of quality improvement projects. Not all journals will publish them, so you need to review the author guidelines very carefully. If it is not clear that the journal will publish a report of a quality improvement project, you should email the journal for clarification. Also, qualitative research is not the same thing as a quality improvement project! Quality improvement research is not the same as a quality improvement project!
As you are beginning authors, you will want to select a journal that is a “gateway” journal. A gateway journal is typically at a lower ranking than a big-name journal. Gateway journals are more likely to accept a beginning author for publication and work with the beginning author. It can be very difficult to publish in a big-name journal, even for experienced authors.
As you look for a journal, review multiple journals. Then, narrow the search to three journals to explore thoroughly. Be sure to review the following for each journal: (a) aim/purpose of the journal, (b) scope of the journal, (c) copyright and open access policies, (d) acceptance rate, (e) average number of days to first decision (typically, after the first review, authors are asked to make revisions to the manuscript and resubmit, and (f) ranking.

Create a pamphlet using any type of publisher software you choose to educate clients on a current patient safety issue.
For example:
How aging adults can care for themselves at home
Medication–polypharmacy and how a patient cannot make a self-medication error,
Or other appropriate safety issues.
If you have a question about a specific topic, check with your instructor. It is recommended that you save your pamphlet as a PDF for submission.
Your pamphlet must include the following items:
At least five tips for preventive care for the patient.
Information that should be shared with family or caregivers.
Local resources in the community that might be available for this type of safety concern.
At least three APA-formatted references published within the last five years.

Goal Statement: Things to include and expand on are:

Ø Your future goals as FNP. (Explain your understanding of the role of an FNP in primary care, outpatient settings, treating patients across the life span, diagnosing, teaching prevention, holistic medicine…)
“Understanding this program has a focus of primary care, how would you describe the differences in practice philosophies between MD, PAs, and NPs? How have those differences informed your decision to become an NP? “
Ø Why you believe Samuel Merritt’s Online program will be a good fit to get you where you want to be.(Mention how your goals align with SMU’s Mission). (Make sure you mention the adjustments and sacrifices you are prepared to make to be successful in the program including reducing work hours if needed)
Here is a guideline for the goal statement:

Hello everyone!
My name is. I live in the state of New Jersey. I have been a Registered Nurse for 3 years, and I am looking forward to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. I currently work on a cardiac telemetry unit and my responsibilities include monitoring any changes in the EKG output and notifying the doctor of any changes, assessing patients while paying close attention to detail, responding quickly to cardiac issues such as chest pain, administering various medications including cardiac drips, and performing necessary interventions. I am excited to begin my first travel RN assignment on a medical-surgical unit in the next few weeks. In the past, I have worked in a medical-surgical unit and a rehabilitation unit.
I believe that nursing administration, education, and research should be considered advanced practice nursing based on the definitions of advanced practice nursing. “Advanced practice nursing integrates research, education, practice, and management, has a high level of professional autonomy, advanced health assessment skills, decision-making skills, and diagnostic reasoning skills. In order to deal with the new and complex health demand of the population, reforms in health systems strategies include increasing the number of nurses working in clinical settings or advanced practice and expanding their roles” (Sánchez-Gómez et al., 2019). “The CNL brings evidence-based practice to the bedside, creates a culture of safety, and provides high-quality care. …the nurse educator role requires specialized preparation, and every individual engaged in the academic enterprise must be prepared to implement that role successfully” (Denisco, 2021).
Nurse administrators supervise healthcare workers and nurses, nurse educators educate healthcare professionals, and nurse researchers conduct studies and analyze data. All these professionals require an advanced level of education to become who they are today. They require specialized training and fit the definition of advanced practice nursing as mentioned previously in this discussion. Therefore, I believe that nursing administration, education, and research should be considered advanced practice nursing.
