What political philosophies or theories were influential on the founders of the United States on both the Declaration of Independence (1776) and US Constitution (1787)?

You are to create three appropriate classroom procedures that encourage natural rights while still abiding by the social contract. You must identify the Enlightenment Thinker you are modeling and have a robust statement of that “right.” For example, if you wanted to challenge the responsibility of homework you cannot submit something like, “we shouldn’t have homework because we don’t do it anyways”. You are to draw inspiration for the verbiage from the national archives resource in the Google slide presentation

Explore the referendum and initiative process for the state of Idaho. Indicate whether the state of Idaho features the initiative, the referendum, or both. Are these electoral devices outlined in state statutes or the state constitution? Can the devices be used to change the state constitution, state statutory law, or both?
Next, read through the provisions and provide a summary of the steps necessary to place the initiative and/or referendum on the ballot in the state you chose (e.g., must the initiative or referendum cover only one issue, how many signatures are necessary to place the measure on the ballot, are petitioners required to gather signatures in various areas of the state, how long before the election must the signatures be verified/certified, who certifies them, etc.). Also, is this a direct or indirect process?
Finally, what do you think of the process (i.e., are you supportive of these methods or not, and why)? How might the process be changed, if at all?

In so doing you will contrast the concept of federalism with the separation of powers and then investigate federalism by examining a topic of your choice, and how it demonstrates the concept of federalism at both the national and state level. In your investigation, make sure to discuss potential points of tension and/or cooperation that can arise between states and the national government on your issue of choice.
