Week #3: Part I: Comprehensive Case Analysis: Identification of Problem and Identification of Products, Customers & Markets-Read the case and become familiar with the company’s products, customers and markets. In addition, you will identify the pertinent problems/ issues that management needs to address.

In addition, each student must provide a detailed explanation of the company’s products and/or services, customers.
Note: Identification of Issues will be evaluated in week #3. Zeros will be placed in the case analysis categories that are not being graded; stakeholder perspectives, application of external sources, analysis and evaluation, recommendations, and implementation plans. Professional format, writing skills, and APA format will be evaluated in every submission.Week #4: Part II. Comprehensive Case Analysis: Discuss Industry Factors and Competitors-Conduct a search of the industry, along with who are the major competitors.
Deliverable: Industry data must be investigated to determine where does this company fit within the industry, alongside competitors and rivals in the industry. A chart of competitors and products and/or services must be provided.
Note: Stakeholder Perspectives and Application of External Sources will be evaluated in week #4. Zeros will be placed in the case analysis categories that are not being graded; specifically, identification of issues, analysis and evaluation, recommendations, and implementation plans. Professional format, writing skills, and APA will be evaluated in every submission.
Week #5: Part III. Comprehensive Case Analysis: Computation of Financial Ratios and Analysis of Financial Performance-Compute financial ratios on the data provided in the case. Conduct an analysis of the company’s financial performance and determine if the company’s strategy is producing satisfactory results. Compare company’s financial performance with their competitors-if possible.
Deliverable: Each student must compute financial ratios on the firm’s profitability, liquidity, leverage, rate of return, and its capital structure. In this week, pairs of students will work collaboratively with one another to work on the financial ratio calculations. Each student will be responsible for reviewing their peers’ financial ratio calculations for accuracy. Students must compute ratios for all of the years presented in the case.
Financial ratio calculations must be placed in an appendix to be added at the end of the report. Use Excel in Microsoft Office to create tables and charts to present your ratio analysis in the case report, along with graphs to track trends in the financial performance of the organization.
Compare the company’s financial performance with competitors in their industry.
Given the financial statement information is somewhat dated in the book, you will be required to retrieve the most current annual reports to analyze your financial ratios. You are required to calculate ratios for 4 consecutive years starting with the most current; therefore, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020 or 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019. You are NOT allowed to use Yahoo Finance. You must locate the 10k or annual reports for the company you are analyzing.
Ratio formulas can be found on pages 89-91.
Below are the ratios you should be computing for your respective cases:
Profitability Ratios
-Gross profit margin
-Operating profit margin
-Net profit margin
-Total Return on total Assets
-Return on stockholder’s equity
Liquidity Ratios
-Current ratio
-Working capital
Leverage Ratios
-Debt to assets
-Long-term debt to capital
Activity Ratios
Inventory turnover
Average collection period
An appendix must be completed to show the ratio calculations. After the appendix is completed, a discussion about the ratios and corresponding graphs must be included in the case analysis report. Therefore two items should be submitted in week #5: appendix with ratio calculations (show work) and financial analysis in the case report with graphs to track trends.
Note: Depending on the type of company you are analyzing, you may not be able to compute some ratios. Select other ratios if necessary, but make sure that you discuss the major financial indicators: profitability, liquidity, leverage, and activity.
Week #6: Part IV. Comprehensive Case Analysis: Develop Recommendations Supported by Data and implementation Plans
Deliverable: Each student must state recommendations that address the problems/issues that you identified and analyzed. Supporting data should be provided to defend the recommendations suggested. Recommendations and implementation plans must be included in a plan of action-time line and meet the following criteria:
1. The company must be able to financially carry out what you recommend.
2. The company must have the competence to implement them.
3. Consideration must be given to the market and environmental constraints.
Please add an action plan in this section of your report. Use the action plan template below:

Note: Recommendations and Implementation Plans will be evaluated in week #6. Professional format, writing skills, and APA format will be evaluated in every submission.
