Read Chapter 15 of Criminal Justice Policy: Origins and Effectiveness.
Select a crime or criminal justice policy covered in this course or course textbook.
Using OCLS resources, find a minimum of four (4) scholarly journal articles on the policy you select. These should be “new” articles that you’ve not used in prior submissions.
After you have read your selected articles, write a six to eight page paper.
In your paper, cite all four (4) articles as well as your textbook.
Be sure to use headings to organize your writing.
Title Page: Include a properly formatted APA title page with an original and meaningful title, your name, the course, and the submission date.
Introduction
History & Origin: Describe the history and origin of your selected policy
Rationale: Examine the rationale(s) behind the policy
Empirical data: Analyze empirical findings in both support and opposition of the policy
Control Model: Design a community-based crime control model that is built upon criminal justice organizations and communities.

Also, you’ll need a well-developed section before the conclusion that explores prospective security training and its potential effectiveness and benefit. It will help set your paper apart from others that have covered this topic and already discussed the efficacy of current and newly implemented training.
ROUGH DRAFT: Please condense your abstract a bit more. It needs to be more concise. You don’t have to go into great detail in the abstract. You only have to detail the objective and goal of your paper to your reader. Also, your header should be in all caps. You may have to shorten it so that it doesn’t run over into the page number if placing it in caps increases the size. Proofread for common errors, such as missing commas, misspellings, and use of first-person writing.

Using APA format, write a six page (double-spaced) literature review, including all of the articles in the “Literature Review Readings” folder.

My proposed out come is: My topic for my class project is going to be comparing or contrasting anti-colonial or postcolonial criminology with Classical Criminology, Positivist Criminology and Merton’s Strain Theory. My proposed outcome is that an in-depth understanding of the historical, cultural, and social factors that impact criminological ideas may be obtained by comparing anti-colonial and postcolonial criminology with classical criminology, positivist criminology, and Merton’s strain theory. By comparing anti-colonial/postcolonial criminology with classical/positivist theories, I anticipate that this study will focus on the weaknesses of traditional criminological frameworks in addressing the wide range of postcolonial cultures. The United States continues to use the death penalty even though many Western democracies and a growing number of states have banned executions. Public support for the death penalty among Americans is waning. The finality of death leaves no room for error. Convictions must be based on reliable physical evidence that leaves no doubt who should be held accountable for the death of an innocent person. In many criminal cases, eyewitness testimony and confessions are no longer viewed as reliable. Whether you are a death penalty proponent or opponent, we can all agree no innocent person should be put to death as a result of a wrongful conviction.
