For this assignment, assume you are working as a project manger at a small, but fast growing General Contractor that currently has 50 employees, but expects to double in size in the next two years. The owner is “old school” and is used to doing estimates and bids by hand on the back of an envelope. However, the owner has realized that in order to be competitive, the company needs to acquire construction estimating software. Since you are a recent graduate and well versed in applying technology in the construction industry, they assign you the task of researching the available products and presenting to the owner three options. The software that is selected will be used for an upcoming project to build a 200,000 square foot office building and an accompanying parking strucutre.
You will need to do an internet search for Construction Estimating Software. Based on what you learn, select three products and create a document to present your recommendations. You may use any of the word processing or presentation programs we have worked with this term. For each of these products, be sure to include the following information:
The name of the software
The purpose of the software
The software’s logo
At least three key features of the software
How much it will cost
Is it cloud based or desktop
Does the software integrate with Excel
Why using Construction Estimating Software is better than the current back of envelope process

The student will prepare an outline for a site-specific Safety Plan, including all the relevant aspects covered in the class lectures, recordings, and PowerPoint lecture notes. And from your BCN3730 Safety Course. DO NOT submit a full plan. DO NOT submit a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
Here are five steps to a strong outline:
Choose Your Topic and Establish Your Purpose. A lot of writers struggle to define the initial focus for their papers. Trying to come up with a topic from a list of possibilities is a difficult task, but understanding your plan’s larger purpose is just as important. Having a goal or objective in mind will help you set guidelines and limitations on what is appropriate content for your plan. What do you want your readers to learn from reading your paper? What do you want them to understand about your topic? These questions can help you focus your ideas around the specific take-home messages you want to leave with your readers.
Create A List Of Main Ideas. This is the brainstorming part of the writing process. The goal here is to come up with a list of essential ideas that you are planning to present in your plan. This step can be a list of arguments to answer a question, a list of resources, or it could even include tips on how to do something. No matter what the topic is, this step gives you a chance to get all of your ideas out and have a list of possible topics that you can touch on in your essay.
Organize Your Main Ideas. This step aims to rearrange the list of ideas that you came up with in Step 2, putting them in an order that will make sense to you and the reader. There are many different strategies for organizing your ideas, and these will vary depending on the type of plan you are writing. Some common organizational structures are cause and effect, classification, chronological, and process. Once you have put your ideas in order, you’re well on your way to developing the structure of your plan.
Flush Out Your Main Points. After you have decided on the order of your main points, you’ll want to add some relevant content to help support each main idea. Your goal in this step is to expand upon your original ideas so that your reader has a better understanding of each point. You can add more detail to each concept by including examples, quotes, facts, theories, or personal anecdotes. While this step may seem tedious, it will make your drafting process much easier. You’ll save time in the long run because your paper will be more logical and focused and your ideas will be fully developed.
Review and Adjust. Most people would think that after step four your outline is done, but that is not the case. Writing is a repetitive process, and all good writers continue to review and revise their essay until they feel it is the best it can be. The same goes for an outline; it should be like a roadmap that you use to direct your essay exactly where you want it to go. Make sure that you’ve included all of your ideas and established the connections between each of your main points.
This outline will be useful for your Senior Project. Use an Outline Format, no bullets.

For this assignment, we will be exploring the services, benefits, and support options available to personnel in your agency as it pertains to mental health.
You have noticed one of your colleagues acting differently around the firehouse. They are quieter than normal and are not engaging with the rest of the company in the kitchen.
You are concerned and decide to reach out. As you approach your colleague and ask how they are doing, they tell you that everything is fine. As you continue to engage, offering reassurance and support, they share with you that they are dealing with a significant personal issue and are not sure where to turn. They explain that it has been difficult to get quality sleep, and it is affecting work and family. You ask if they would be willing to seek professional help and they indicate that they would consider it. The firefighter thanks you for your concern. You advise that you will follow up with more information.
To properly assist your colleague, you need to seek out more information.
Seek out and interview an appropriate individual who can provide more information on the questions listed below. They may be from inside or outside of your agency.
Questions:
What cultural change in the fire service needs to happen? What NFFF life safety initiative applies?
Why is it important to maintain physical and mental wellness in the fire service?
What types of threat to life and health have you seen associated with the fire service?
Do the department personnel have access to any type of peer support team? If so, is it local or regional?
Do the department personnel have access to any type of behavioral health assistance program? If so, what are the details?
Who needs to be accountable for health and safety?
What treatment facilities, if any, are available for department personnel who are dealing with a mental health or substance use disorder? If any, where are they located? How are they accessed?
Are there costs associated with accessing treatment for mental health services?
Does the department have a policy in place for personnel who need time off for a mental health issue? Does the policy address the personnel’s return to duty?
Does the department provide any type of training to personnel on how to recognize mental health issues? If so, please provide details.
Question for you to ponder: Do you feel adequately prepared to engage this person in a conversation about suicide? Why, or why not? (This does not have to be included in your assignment. It is just for you think about.)
After you conduct your interview, compile your research in an essay that focuses on the information you gathered. Make sure to include:
a title page,
an introduction in which you offer information about your interviewee,
the bulleted list of the questions that were asked along with the interviewee’s responses to each question,
a summary of your thoughts about the interviewee’s responses, and
a conclusion summarizing your research and what you learned.
Write a minimum of two pages. Use Times New Roman 12-point font and double space the entire document. Provide links to any resources, if appropriate.
