General Purpose of The Project:
• Is to gain experience analyzing psychological instruments.
• To be able to examine psychological test information and write a coherent evaluation about the pros and cons of the instrument.
Specifics:
• The objective is to critically analyze a psychological instrument. The report should be an evaluation of The Rorschach Inkblot Test and should answer the following questions:
Application
Analyses could focus on:
*What specific areas of psychology is the instrument being used in?
*Is it used for what it was intended to be used?
*Are there short versions of the instrument?
*Are there different versions used to help with different populations?
*Does it have predictive validity or not?
*Geographic representation, Ethnic representation, Gender representation, Age representation, and Education representation, are the differences between groups analyzed?
*What impact does this content have on test development? What do or should the authors do to improve the instrument?
VI. APA FORMAT (2.5 marks)
It is important whenever you carry out a piece of research for an essay or research assignment to include details of any sources of information you have used. The sources should be cited using APA formatting. A great resource for proper APA formatting is the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. The structure of the essay or research assignment (title pages, font size, margins, titles, subtitles, etc.) should also follow the APA style
The assignment is out of 20 Marks (worth 20% of you overall mark). Please remember to support your claims with empirical evidence or other academic literature. A mark will be given for each argument that is given and supported (i.e. through the data or literature). You must have a minimum of 2 references, with thebeing current (2008+) scholarly, peer review journal articles.
