Prompt:
Choose any artist, writer, painter, musician, dancer, etc, from the 20th or 21st century
Select one or two (at most) of their most influential pieces of art
Analyze how that piece(s) of art reflect the time period and art style in which it was created. This is exactly what we’ve been doing with our discussion posts.
Remember that your job is to analyze the artistic work you’ve chosen by breaking down the major elements, themes, symbols, images, colors, etc. to show how the work reflects/shows/critiques the time periods in which it was ccreated.
Then, explain how the artistic work you’ve chosen reflect/show/or critique the topic that you’ve chosen. Make sure you make the connection between your analysis and the topic you’ve chosen. Explain why it matters and why your reader should care.
You can choose an artist that you’ve written about before, but it cannot be the same as what you wrote about for essay #1
