You are to choose
an article from a recognized news
source on a topic related to Organizational Behavior. This should be either from an academic source
or reputable business trade journal (e.g., Business
Week, Wall St. Journal, Harvard Business Review, etc). Do not
use websites such as Huffington Post since these are based on blog posts. The
article should be current—published between 2014-2021. Make sure that your article is of sufficient
length so that you have enough information to work with for the assignment. I
do not need to approve the article but if you are concerned about whether it is
appropriate, you can check with me. Please let me know if you need help
locating an article. Develop a paper that addresses the following:
Introduction – Write a brief introduction to
your assignment, providing the title and date/source of your article and
why you chose it
Summary of article – Provide a summary of the
main points in the article
Connection to Course Concepts – Discuss how
points made in the article related to concepts in the course
Conclusion – How you write this depends on
the topic of your article – the following are examples of things you can
comment on. What do you see happening with this issue moving forth? Do you
agree/disagree with the author? How
well was it written? How have
things changed about this issue (if at all) since the article was written?
A typical length for the paper is about 5 pages (more is
OK). Please create subheadings around the outline provided above. Please note
that papers which provide mostly a summary of the article will lose
significant points.
The grading of the assignment will be based on the
following: 60 points for relevance of article to the course/how well you
tied specific points in the article to course concepts; 60 points for
format/organization of the paper and balance of summary vs. analysis of
article; 30 points for grammar, typos, and posting up copy of article or
link under Discussion Board 3, totaling 150 points for the paper. This
paper must be submitted by Friday 6pm on Week 7. You must also post an attached
copy of the article or link to article on the Individual Discussion Posting 3
in Week 7.
