For this project, you need to detail the social construction of a drug of your choosing by society, lawmakers, claimsmakers (experts and/or activists), and the media throughout the last 150 years (depending on the drug).
Your paper can focus on the legality of the drug, its vilification and how it relates to race/class/gender, user demographic, harm it has done, who have the police targeted, etc.
Again, Your paper should be 5-7 double-spaced pages, in 12-point font (Times New Roman) and have 1” margins. Just put your name in the upper left-hand corner, followed by a centered title. You will be graded on following directions (regarding formatting), content, clarity, and grammar. You need to use at least 5 sources, with at least 3 of them being peer reviewed.
