Module 2 – Understanding power and privilege
Behavioral health providers are put in a position of power from the beginning of every session. We have the power to establish the rules of therapy, determine a diagnosis, and set a treatment plan.
To build strong therapeutic relationships, we must be mindful of how power and privilege shape our cultural identity and the cultural identities of our clients.
