I think The Great Gatsby, has a lot to with being successful. The claim would be the background of the novel, and what it patronizes. The reason for a better life to be rich and successful The novel comes from having a dream, having human conscience, courage, and empathy. Sometimes in life it takes just little more to use socialization and communication skills, giving advice to show people that they mean something and they have a dream to do better.

The Great Gatsby, was written in 1924, and the war was going on causing things that Americans could only imagine at this time. When we look at history back then, it takes us to what we see how far this country has come from. Everything that has been going on we have knowledgeable of what is going on now. So much has changed, such as more success and people wanting better for their life. Just as Fitzgerald, he had the advantages of going to college and making a better life, just as some of us are doing now.

The quote from the novel, ” Whenever you feel like criticizing anyone,” he told me, ” just remember that all people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had.” ( Fitzgerald 2019) I read this numerous of times and it just stuck with me and it is so true. Whatever you go through in life, someone else is having a harder time. We should never be to quick to criticize and judge because we never know if that could ever be us. Just know if someone suffer we should try to be there for their success and not their failure.
